Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has expressed his country's desire to increase Turkey's exports to $265 billion by the end of the year, despite the negative global economic backdrop, Anadolu Agency reported.

"We want to increase our exports to $265 billion by the end of 2023 despite the negative global economic situation, and to $285 billion next year", Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, according to Anadolu Agency. He stressed that Turkey's goal is to achieve exports of more than $400 billion by 2028.

The Turkish president said his government will consider all constructive suggestions and criticisms from exporters to accelerate the pace of foreign trade. He pointed out that in 2022, merchandise exports grew by 12.9% and recorded revenues of around $254.2 billion.

He added that Turkey's share of world trade rose to 1.02% in 2022 and that exports from the services sector grew by 47.3% last year to exceed $90 billion.
