Russia and China will stand together to repel the collective West’s attempts to maintain its global dominance, and will push back hard against such dangerous ambitions, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Wednesday, TASS reported.

Along with stronger trade and economic cooperation, we deem it important to expand cultural and humanitarian ties, Mishustin said

It is the aspiration of the people and the trend of the times to consolidate and develop China-Russia relations, Xi Jinping said, according to Xinhua. He expressed his hope that both sides will continue to take advantage of the great potential, broad prospects and strong impetus of China-Russia ties to advance cooperation in various fields and enrich their comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for the new era.

China and Russia should continue to firmly support each other on issues concerning their respective core interests, and strengthen coordination on multilateral arenas such as the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS and the G20, Xi stressed.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang also held talks with his Russian counterpart in Beijing. Li said that the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era has maintained a high level of development in recent years under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, according to Xinhua. China is willing to work with Russia to give full play to the regular meeting mechanism between Chinese premier and Russian prime minister, implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and promote the steady and sustainable development of bilateral pragmatic cooperation, he said.
