A wide range of activities and attractions has been lined up for Garangao celebrations at different locations in Qatar, Gulf Times writes, adding that souqs and hypermarkets have also been busy in the run-up to Garangao as families gathered to purchase goodies for the occasion, a traditional celebration that coincides with the 14th night of Ramadan.

Garangao is considered one of the most important Ramadan occasions in Qatar, when children knock on doors and collect nuts and sweets around their neighbourhood, the news site reminds. Various public and private entities also organise big Garangao celebrations.

A range of free activities will be available, from stage performances to art and design workshops. Families can enjoy a host of activities that educate and entertain their kids. Starting at 8pm, there will be puppet shows, quizzes with prizes, a fashion show and prizes for the best girl and boy Garangao outfit, Gulf Times writes.
