It is a great honour for me to extend my greetings to Vietnam and our Vietnamese friends on this remarkable occasion, the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries. This special event provides an opportunity to look back on our shared past, appreciate our achievements, and further strengthen our friendly cooperation.
The relationship between Hungary and Vietnam has passed many important milestones, strengthened over the decades and has achieved outstanding development in all areas—political, economic, educational, and cultural. In recent years, the increasing trade volume, successful joint projects, and active cooperation between our universities all testify to this close cooperation. The continuously expanding economic relations and the growing interest and openness based on market opportunities of the private sector also demonstrate that the cooperation between our two countries is sustainable and fruitful even in the long run.
The perseverance and diligence of the Vietnamese people and the leadership’s vision focused on development have always been deeply respected in Hungary. Vietnamese students and professionals who have studied here have contributed and are still contributing to strengthening the ties between our two nations, and we are delighted to see that many of them in key positions played a significant role in their country’s development. For Hungary, it is particularly important to continue supporting young Vietnamese people through higher education and research collaborations. Scientific innovations and academic exchange programs not only promote individual development but also contribute to building a common future for both nations.
We remain committed to further developing our bilateral relations in the future. I firmly believe that through our joint efforts, we can create new opportunities to reach new quality in our relations. Hungary is ready to expand the horizons of the cooperation in supporting bilateral partnerships as well our common actions in the international fora.
I would like to emphasize the importance of cultural relationship, which is one of the main pillars of mutual knowledge and understanding. Hungarian and Vietnamese art, music, and literature provide a unique opportunity for the people of both countries to learn more about each other’s traditions and values. Through cultural exchange programs and festivals, we can further deepen this bond, which will strengthen our friendship in the long term.
I thank the Vietnamese leadership and people for its commitment and friendship and wish great success and prosperity to all its citizens. I am confident that in the coming years, we will achieve even more common successes. The 75th anniversary is not just a celebration of our past but also a new beginning, during which we can further build our cooperation for a closer and more prosperous future.
