The conference of the Iraqi Innovation and Creativity Center revealed the registration of more than 1,200 patents inside Iraq during the past year, most of which are related to business sectors.

The Prime Minister's speech was read out by the Minister of Planning Mohamed Tamim, in which he said: "Our message with the sponsorship of this conference is to highlight the paths of innovation in light of artificial intelligence and biotechnology, so we believe that innovation can create solutions to many problems that the country suffers at the level of economy and services, especially since most patents are related to business sectors."

He pointed out that the importance of innovation lies in the fact that it has direct and indirect effects that have a positive impact on the well-being of peoples in many cases, at a time when the invention has become a private property that its owner enjoys for a period of 20 years in accordance with legal controls, pointing out that digital technology is the most patented, followed by artificial intelligence.

He stressed the importance of this segment having special attention, and providing it with the appropriate environment that helps make it more creative in this important joint.

A member of the Innovation and Creativity Center, Ikram Al Aqeel, stressed the importance of investing all inventions registered with the Ministry of Planning because of their importance in developing the fields of industry, agriculture, technology and scientific fields and for both the public and private sectors in a way that ensures that the country benefits from those experiences as well as ensuring their rights through this trend and caring for creators and moving towards overcoming difficulties to expand the payment of their scientific projects and adopt them and invest the best ones to serve the country and develop the national product, especially since our Iraqi competencies had clear fingerprints in International forums and forums through their participation in all conferences.

She pointed out that it is necessary to adopt the establishment or participation of inventors in local and international exhibitions to ensure the optimal marketing of these knowledge products, as well as seeking to establish an investment fund that supports that intellectual product and represents an active element in investing all creative energies in the field of scientific research to make a qualitative leap in the sources of production and revenues.

Al Aqeel called for concerted efforts to transfer sober patents to be contained and supported instead of killing the desire within those energies, because scientific research products are not financially supported and that the outputs of scientific production are marginalized and do not serve the aspirations of young people and scientists in the service of all.

She urged the establishment of the investment fund to support the knowledge production of innovators and inventors in the presence of renewable creative energies that have patents, so it calls for concerted efforts by the state and the private sector to invest the diverse and multiple achievements of knowledge production in order to establish a qualitative investment fund for the minds that have excelled in the process of scientific achievement so that they are not energies with wasted efforts and that they are supported by official national authorities and the private sector in order to direct these products to various sectors and to dismantle the private dependence on the crude export oil sector is encircled, according to the official Sabah newspaper.
