There will be flying cabs in Dubai in the next three years, the emirate's ruler and UAE Vice President Mohammed bin Rashid has announced.

Plans for the flying cabs have been approved by the government and are expected to reach full capacity by 2026, according to Al Arabiya News Dubai is expected to be the first city in the world to have a fully developed vertiport network. The project will connect four major areas: Dubai International Airport, Downtown, Palm Jumeirah and the port.

The aircraft cabins will offer passengers a seamless, end-to-end journey with zero emissions and maximum safety. Each aircraft has a pilot and space for four passengers. It will have a range of 241 km and a top speed of 300 km/h. “The concept of flying cars in Dubai is not new, with Chinese firm XPeng Aeroht showcasing a two-seater electric VTOL flying car in a demonstration in Dubai last October,” Al Arabiya reminds.
