US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Anchorage, Alaska, on Friday for a summit aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.

According to live television broadcasts, the two leaders disembarked from their presidential planes at the same time and walked toward each other on red carpets. Donald Trump greeted his Russian counterpart with applause and a handshake. They then proceeded in Trump's Cadillac to the Elmendorf-Richardson military base.

A huge Alaska 2025 sign was visible on the runway. Four fighter jets were also parked on the runway in front of Air Force One, the US presidential plane, and the Russian head of state's plane.

Putin and Trump are scheduled to hold their meeting at the base at 9:30 p.m.

Karoline Leavitt, senior press secretary for the White House, told Reuters that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Representative Steve Witkoff will also attend the meeting, followed by a working lunch with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense, and Susie Wiles, White House Chief of Staff, will also attend.

Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman, said that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Yuri Ushakov, foreign policy adviser to the Russian president, will also join the meeting between Putin and Trump.
