China’s foreign minister Qin Gang told his Israeli and Palestinian counterparts that his country is ready to help facilitate peace talks, The Times of Israel reports, referring to Xinhua.

Following the successful Iran-Saudi mediation, Chinese diplomacy has offered its help in resolving the long-stalled Middle East standoff and would facilitate Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.

Speaking to Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, Qin encouraged “steps to resume peace talks,” and said that “China is ready to provide convenience for this".

Qin told Palestinian foreign minister Riyad Al-Maliki that Beijing supports the resumption of talks as soon as possible, The Times of Israel adds.

During both calls, Qin emphasized China’s push for peace talks on the basis of implementing a “two-state solution.”

The article reminds that recently, China brokered the restoration of ties in March between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
