More than 70 percent of Azerbaijan's green energy capacity may be exported from 2030, according to Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov.

The minister provided an update on the status of projects related to the green energy corridors, specifically the "Caspian-Black Sea-Europe" initiative, which is expected to supply 4 GW of green energy to Europe in its initial stage. Additionally, he discussed the "Azerbaijan-Türkiye-Europe" corridor, which not only aims to export 1 GW of renewable energy from Nakhchivan but also has the potential to facilitate electricity transmission from the Caspian Sea and Central Asia to Türkiye and Europe.

Moreover, Shahbazov talked about the imminent signing of the “Intergovernmental Agreement on Strategic Partnership in the Development and Transmission of Green Energy between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.” He also discussed the potential for connecting the “Caspian-Black Sea-Europe” green energy corridor to Central Asia.
