As the international community moves towards an era of increased polarization and geopolitical division, Kazakhstan launches a new international conference, the Astana International Forum, to join efforts on tackling key global challenges, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry informs.

Kazakhstan will host the Astana International Forum (AIF) on June 8-9 in Astana, launched under the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, which aims to tackle global challenges on climate, food scarcity, and energy security, Astana Times reports, citing the Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s press service.

According to the ministry, the forum will serve as a platform for eminent delegates from governments, international organizations, business, and academia, to engage in a dialogue to seek ways to address climate, food scarcity and energy security challenges.

„In an increasingly polarized world, Kazakhstan often plays the role of a bridge between East and West, North and South,” President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev writes in an op-ed published by Astana Times. „In the face of global challenges, we remain committed to global cooperation by championing dialogue, trade, multilateralism, and the exchange of ideas. We will continue to defend international law and to pursue constructive engagement with nations across the world,” he adds.
